Backing into my driveway

i live on a narrow street, three car widths wide, with cars always parked down either side. There is always one SUV on either side of my driveway so i back into my driveway to facilitate seeing down the road as i exit my driveway.

I generally make a three-point back-in as opposed to a ninety degree backing turn which means i head towards the driveway across the street to begin the process. If another car is heading my way, i will wave them on before blocking the street during my backing into my driveway.

Often after i have started the process, a car will come down the street considerably faster than the 40 Km per hour limit. Some, like today will veer up onto the sidewalk behind my moving car to get around me. One has to wonder about their intelligence.
